The Hook & Ladder Tree Service crew

About Hook & Ladder

Firefighters who cut trees

We named the company after the truck we ride on at the station. The same habits come with us to every job: plan it, communicate, nobody gets hurt, leave it better than we found it.

Our story

Built on the fire service way of working.

Hook & Ladder Tree Service is owned and run by firefighters and paramedics on the Northshore.

Firefighting and tree work have a lot in common. Both involve heights, heavy loads, ropes, saws and situations that can go wrong fast if nobody has a plan. On a fire ground, every person knows their job and the scene is controlled before anyone takes a risk. That’s exactly how we run a tree removal or a clearing job.

Our owner holds a Louisiana arborist license through the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry, and the company is fully insured. We run an aerial spider lift for tree work and a tracked CAT forestry mulcher for land — the right tools to do careful work in tight yards and big work on open acreage.

We started with tree removal and trimming. Today, more and more of our work is forestry mulching and land clearing for landowners across St. Tammany, Washington and Tangipahoa parishes — homesites, fence lines, pastures, hunting land and overgrown family property.
